This film is a cinematographic essay on Victor Hugo, an improbable, little-known Victor Hugo. For thirty-five minutes, Jean-François Jung guides us through a fascinating world, a ”phantasmagorical” universe… Above the bubbling cauldron of poetic language, visions smoke and masks flicker, sometimes seeming to emanate from the strange graphic world of the author.
