Art school brass bands have invented a corrosive style of music putting a swing into military marches and playing requiem to the rythm of the waltz.Their humour and dynamism make them unique in the world. Every four years, the art school brass bands come together to mark a sacred event: the National Art School Brass Bands Competition. To understand this delirious and fantastic world, the film follows an old brass band, the Piston Circus. Will the older bands maintain their supremacy or will they be overtaken by younger challengers?
