For the first time, a team of vulcanologists and specialists in tectonics will head toward the volcano Erta’Ale. During the expedition, ground and stones will tell us their own history. 30 million years ago, magma has emerged from the depths. First, the earth’s crust heaved itself up, then crashed, opening a fault which never stopped to widen out.
