Understanding the Tuareg rebellion…After two years of conflict in northern Mali between army and rebels, in the heart of the Sahara desert, this document exposes, the political and economical realities, as well as the cultural and human impact of this ”war of sands”. For the first time, both sides are given opportunity to speak out. Throughout the confrontation of opposing views on the reasons for the conflict, both sides (army and rebels) reveal their racial hatred. The Blacks, the Tuareg’s slaves of yesterday, have become the masters of this proud nomadic people.
