Laurence, 20, began to take dancing lessons at the age of 4 and a half. She has led an uneventful life in Avignon, Provence, with her brother and sister. She loves dancing, but believes she will never be a ”great dancer”. Even so, after her final exams at school, she decides to move to Paris and earn a living as a dancer. She chooses the Moulin Rouge because, as she says, ”It’s a national asset”.
