Literary and biographic portrait of the American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft, follower and reformer of gothic tradition, master of gothic literature. This portrait attempts a psychic approach of the writer’s biography. Its unique decor is a humble and decrepit flat. It is maybe the New York apartment where Lovecraft spent painful years while his life went to pieces. But it might also represent, and certainly does, the writer’s mental state. A prison-like interior, tormented by anguish, ravaged by grief, social failure and inner exile.
